Like most young journalists, I’ve been writing for whoever will have me pretty much ever since I realised I could do it. I was a regular face at editorial meetings for the in-joke laden high school magazine, but it was the Glasgow University Guardian which gave me my first taste of the newsroom. I was News Editor during academic session 2002/03. I have also served my time on various unpaid work placements in the local press.
I have an LLB (Hons) from the University of Glasgow, and an MSc in Journalism from Napier University.
Specialist subjects? Media law and bands who sound a little bit like they might have been influenced by the work of Bruce Springsteen. If you reckon we should work together, please get in touch to discuss.

Hello Lisa, this is an absolutely superb blog you have here! I have stumbled upon it quite by accident.
I wrote Chapter 2 of the Firm fiction prize 09! Seeing as we’re half way through ’10, has a winning chapter ever been announced??
Do you know Peter Nicholson, Editor of the Journal? He’s a lovely man, you should pitch an article to him.
If you wish to come along and write about the Pin Ups Festival on Friday 30th July (check out the line up) please do, I would be delighted to stick you on the guestlist + 1. Just email me and let me know.
Keep up the great work – I will add a link to the Pin Ups site.
