The position of my favourite High Street store has never really been up for grabs: with their gorgeous, rx girly styles and an emphasis on all my favourite prints – florals, pills butterflies and birds – it’s no surprise that I used to have a pretty serious Oasis habit. In fact, sickness I’d go as far as to say that destroying my Oasis store card was one of the better things I ever did in an attempt to improve my credit rating.
Their latest collection is a collaboration with ceramics artist Peter Ting, and it’s got me all of a-flutter! Based on his in-flight hummingbird designs and lovely turn-of-the-season teals and turquoises, the Flutter collection features 11 pieces including a dreamy printed shirt, snuggly knits and Oasis’ famous printed trousers. Since Ting’s designs are more commonly found on tea sets it’s given the chain a chance to embrace the magic of the afternoon tea – although it was over breakfast, a week or so back, that the Glasgow bloggers were invited to the cash-sink that is Oasis Buchanan Galleries to preview the new collection.
I confess to a little disappointment that the collection doesn’t feature more dresses – how lush would that simpler aquamarine print look on a tea dress or jumper dress? – but there are plenty of lovely things to get your hands on in store and online. What are your favourite pieces?
