make cake, not war;

One of the many, many things I love about this time of year is that it’s the perfect weather for toffee apple muffins – a Gordon Ramsay recipe, not mine as I’m not that good. Regardless, they went down a storm at work and have perhaps triggered the beginnings of a “bake off” – not really what my waistline wants to hear, but what the hey.
PS Top Gear is back on Sunday, kids – set your VCR equivalents!

I linked over. Can I borrow the picture too my dear?
Be honoured! All my photos are Creative Commons, so you should be able to get different sizes if you click through to Flickr.
I did not have you down as a Top Gear fan!
Which means BBC America will show those Top Gears sometime in ’09.
@Perpetual: I know, I barely know a Mazda from a Maserati, but I’m a big fan of the show and particularly the personalities involved. One day I shall meet Jeremy Clarkson, shake his hand and tell him that all I ever wanted was my own flat so that I could keep a copy of The World According to Clarkson in my bathroom.
Lisa darling! Tell me what baked goods are your favorites. And also any food allergies/preferences I should keep in mind while holiday baking.
When and where do I get to set fire to Jeremy Clarkson?
I’m baking pear, almond and ameretti tart tomorrow. Though now I might change to those muffins instead!!
@Sara If it’s cake, I’m generally in! When it comes to food I have no allergies…. just distinct aversions to things that contain mayonnaise or “look like sick”…
@the illman: Not on this blog, sir!
@Fi: Let me know how you get on if you do – although that tart doesn’t sound like something to give up on!
I ended up making caramel muffins as I couldn’t be bothered to go shopping just for apples. This morning I made the tart and it’s looking good!
Haha! Yeah, I barely remember writing that comment….
Musta been very drunk. As Bill Hicks once said, “Just another fevered ego”.
I much prefer Jonathon Ross.
I googled toffee apple muffins, wrote down the Gordon Ramsey recipe from the times website, went back to the google page and the saw you were the 7th entry for toffee apple muffins. I had a bit of an, ‘oh, it’s Lis’s blog, how bizarre’ moment!

That’s AMAZING! But not as amazing as they muffins
Yep, they look so good! Definitely next on my ‘to-bake’ list! x
[...] I’d imagine, created professionally, they’d be pretty hard to beat and I do love a good toffee apple muffin. Right now though, I’m jonesing for a fruit scone and butter like nobody’s [...]
