me and holly snuck into nightclubs;

Jesse Malin remembers late CBGBs founder Hilly Kristal.

In other Jesse news of the sort that has been surprising everybody I’ve passed it on to, Dresden Dolls’ drummer Brian Viglone is now part of Jesse’s touring band. I’m sure it will make for an interesting live show – but I’ll probably never know since some genius booking agent has seen fit to put him on at the Classic Grand the same night every Jesse fan I know in Glasgow is going to be watching the National down the road at the ABC. Having seen Jesse live I think eleven times now it’s going to be weird not to be there, but I have my priorities.

    What a truly ridiculous thing to do! Now I shall just have to go to the Mott The Hoople support show because otherwise I’ll be devastated at not seeing Jesse and I already have a ticket for The National and haven’t seen them live except at a festival but Jesse makes me so happy and fuzzy inside, whereas sometimes The National make me cry.

    Hey, you may want to check out the Jesse Malin video blog I put together, just as a way to seperate the crappy 30 second videos from the good ones.

    What an excellent idea. Thanks for the link, I shall be keeping an eye.
