organised chaos;
I love Scrap Brain. They describe themselves as “noise pop” but I hear something more sinister in there – some glam-punk racket dressed up with semi-sexual Siouxie Sioux vocals.
Plus, Myke’s got his “Unified Scene” t-shirt on in this filmed-as-llive video for “Take It”, recorded and edited on a soundstage by students at Edinburgh’s Stevenson College. What’s not to like?
Fun fact: I spent many a media law lecture daydreaming out of the window from the carbuncle that once stood behind Stevenson College. I think it’s been demolished now. That one probably would have needed a war reporter. I remember our Glasgow-based lecturer asking for an Edinburgh version of some of the rougher parts of Glasgow to use as an example one day. “Look out of the window,” somebody replied.
I digress.
Download the audio, complete with a bonus track, RIGHT NOW from Scrap Brain’s Bandcamp page. And catch them live on 7th August at Maggie May’s 6th August at Bloc. Mine’s a gin.
