st andrews;

It started with a paralegal. I was interviewing her for the magazine the other week, and she couldn’t believe I had never visited her hometown. So when Jay and I headed for the bus station on Bank Holiday Monday, armed only with our paperbacks and a sense of adventure, the destination stood out on the board.
We arrived quite late and hadn’t eaten since breakfast, so only had a couple of hours in which to explore the former royal burgh. We walked around a little while I took photographs, explored the ruins of the old Cathedral which fell into disuse after the Reformation, and wandered down by the famous golf course where we sneered at rich people. It was a lovely afternoon, not least because of the weather which was surprisingly sunny for a bank holiday. A few more photos here.

Ah St Andrews, reminds me of my childhood and going to the beach, eating Irn Bru ice cream, and walking across the Old Course. Hope you loved it. Sxx
