tokens of appreciation;
4:30pm on a Friday afternoon is officially gin Lazy Blogging O’Clock, which is why it’s brilliant that earlier this week my ace pal Richy deemed me worthy of some sort of Reader Appreciation Award that comes complete with easy-to-answer (I hope) questions. Thanks, pal! It’s nice to know somebody is still reading! And that I don’t always have to ask the questions (even if they tend to be pretty similar!).
What’s your favourite animal?
I like tigers best, followed by the many pictures of cats I have cheered Rachel up at work with this week.
What’s your favourite non-alcoholic drink?
…tonic? No, I kid. My absolute favourite non-alcoholic drink is an ice-cold Coca-Cola from a glass bottle, but this week I’m really enjoying the new ‘Six on the Beach’ fruit smoothie from Martha’s on St Vincent Street.
Facebook or Twitter?
I’m becoming less and less keen on Facebook these days, so Twitter by default.
What is your favourite pattern?
Whatever it is is probably by Subversive Cross Stitch. Actually, this TARDIS one is pretty excellent too.
Favourite number?
Last time I got a new football shirt it has “7″ on the back, for Henrik Larsson, even though it was a Wolves shirt, which is as good a shout as any. Also I am the first daughter of the first daughter of a seventh daughter of a seventh daughter, which I believe gives me some sort of magical powers.
Favourite day of the week?
Any day can be brilliant – it just depends on what is planned.
Favourite flower?
Daisies. Today I am dressed even less age-appropriately than usual, but I have no idea what the generic pink flower on my dress is supposed to be.
What is your passion?
Loving the things I love as fiercely as I can. And Carly Rae Jepsen.
My link list needs some serious lovin’, but here are some blogs that probably deserve an award:
Juliet Jacques’ Adventures of a Good Citizen, because I finally get to meet her this weekend;
Aye Tunes, who is starting to panic he might have to write about music again soon;
Milo at Clear-Minded Creative, who has recently released his Career Masterplan for Mad Genuises – I’m really looking forward to reading it being both mad and a genius;
My new favourite blog for thought-provoking writing on politics and sexuality, Endless Curiosity;
Itchy and Irritated, since it’s nearly his birthday and because the promised weekly SCIENCE seems to have slowed;
My First Bruise, since it seems Shelley’s recent guest post for LYG has gotten her in the blogging mood again;
and, last but not least, Jay Stringer of Stringerville, who hasn’t filled out a questionnaire since we were long-distance dating but whose short story collection Faithless Street – the Old Gold Prequel is FREE for Kindle this week, one month ahead of the release of his debut novel.
And the rules, as per Richy.
Include the award logo somewhere in your blog.

Thanks Lis! What a pop song that is. Looking forward to reading Jay’s books!
I’ve only just noticed that the rules state 10 questions, but you and I only actually had 8. Returning to MY source, it seems I managed to lose “what is your favourite colour”, but that’s only one. I wonder what the tenth was…?
I noticed there were only eight questions as I filled it in, but by that time it was hometime
Yay! Thanks Lis, this is perfect fodder for my itchy fingers
Congrats, Lis! You deserve it darlin’. And hey, I’m still reading too!
